About the author

Raymond van de Klundert (born 1964), better known as Kluun, worked for many years as a strategist in the advertising industry. In 2003, he made his literary debut Love Life (Komt een vrouw bij de dokter), a runaway success that sold 1.2 million copies and was translated into 30 languages. It was followed in 2006 by De weduwnaar, which sold over half a million copies.

In between, Kluun wrote Help, ik heb mijn vrouw zwanger gemaakt! (2004), a humorous pregnancy guide for expecting dads. His columns were collected in Klunen (2008), followed by Klunen 2 (2013).

In 2009, Komt een vrouw bij de dokter was adapted into a Dutch feature film starring Carice van Houten. Early 2011 saw the release of Haantjes, and later that same year Aan de Amsterdamse Nachten, a collaboration with Parool journalist Hans van der Beek, in which they listed the hundred most notorious nightlife spots in Amsterdam.

In 2017, Kluun published DJ, a hilarious and moving page-turner about a world where everyone uses everyone, where money and fame reign supreme, and where absolutely nothing feels real anymore.
