If there’s one person who has a major impact on employees’ happiness at work, it’s their direct manager. The quality of leadership often determines whether people stay or leave. Yet while many employees feel that their manager’s communication leaves much to be desired, managers themselves often believe they’re doing just fine. Clearly, there’s room for improvement — especially since communication is embedded in everything a leader does.
So how do you communicate well? How do you connect, make decisions, provide clarity, build trust, listen actively, inspire, give constructive feedback, embrace diversity, deliver tough messages with care, and create a psychologically safe work environment?
These are all forms of communication, and they’re what make the difference. This book offers practical tools to help you turn communication into a powerful leadership instrument, with:
The 10 most important real-world lessons
Key facts and figures
Hands-on tips you can use right away
Inspiring stories from experienced leaders
